I am a wife, a mother, a mentor, a lover of people and their stories, a lover of community and a lover of Jesus (and also Dr. Pepper, I love that too).  I believe that every child needs a champion and that all people can thrive when they are encouraged and supported in a healthy environment.  Some of the most rewarding experiences of my life have come from walking through life with teens and youth who have been in the foster care system and are trying to make sense of their suffering.  As Viktor Frankl says “Suffering ceases to be suffering at the moment it finds meaning”  My prayer for all of the youth and young adults we work with is that they will be able to find meaning in their suffering and tell their stories in a world that desperately needs to hear them in order to make life better for those children coming up through the same system behind them.
